R.A. Schaeffer Co., Inc. specializes in providing new and relay railroad materials serving both the domestic and international market. We operate from our Brookshire, Texas facility that includes over 12 Acres of manufacturing capability and inventory. We have invested heavily in modern CAD and GIS technology, manufacturing, and material handling equipment to provide our customers with the highest quality products and services.

Founded in 1986, Robert Arthur “R.A.” Schaeffer established R.A. Schaeffer Co., Inc. after having worked in the railroad industry for more than twenty years. R.A. Schaeffer Co., Inc. was initially formed as a brokerage, trading rail and tubular steel commodities. In 1989, the company moved to its current facility located in Brookshire, Texas where it began manufacturing operations. As demand for R.A Schaeffer Co., Inc.’s services grew, so did the company and its manufacturing capabilities. Repairing FROGs quickly evolved into producing switch plating, non-standard track components, point guards, bumping posts, cropping and drilling rail, assembling turnout packages, and processing Other Track Material (OTM).

Today, R.A. Schaeffer Co., Inc is a third generation family owned and operated business. We continue to take pride in providing our customers with the highest quality materials and upholding our legacy of outstanding service.
